Why Did APCO Signs Leverage the 7200z UV Printer for ADA Braille Signs
Owners of two (2) 7200z UV LED printers, APCO Signs was drawn to Direct Color Systems with one application in mind – ADA/Braille signage. “We had been producing ADA-compliant Braille signage with the Photopolymer process, but it was apparent that there were production gains to be had there,” says Jeff Cobb, APCO’s VP of Operations. “We were primarily drawn to the patented UV process to reduce the inherent waste associated with producing ADA signs using photopolymer.”
“We now enjoy less raw material waste, more flexibility, and quicker lead times on these signs,” says Cobb. By taking advantage of the full 23.8” x 48” print area of their 7200z UV printers, APCO signs can easily bounce between painted acrylic, matte acrylic, and painted aluminum signage.
