DCS Direct Jet inkjet printers are amazingly effective for digital printing on wood. They allow you to print photo-quality images, logos and text directly onto wood substrates up to 6" thick. Inkjet printing on wood allows you to print full-color images onto signage, plaques and much more.
Our Direct Jet UV printers are excellent for printing on finished woods. The UV printing process will produce vibrant color and opaque white, even on dark woods or dark stained woods.
Russell Brown showcased a new way to paint using Photoshop® CS5 during Adobe MAX 2010, which he called "Extreme Painting." This new technique uses lasers to engrave an image onto a canvas made of solid wood. It then uses a high-quality flatbed DCS Direct Jet printer, for digital printing the color image onto wood. The carved wooden canvas becomes an eye popping 3D version of the original image. Russell's entire process can be seen in the video above. Inkjet printing on wood has never been so artful and amazing. Read more at the Photoshop.com blog.
