Subject: Improved Internal Adapters for the Millennium 575x
& 590
When DCS introduced the Millennium 590 printer, customers asked for an additional internal adapter that would specifically accommodate 2" wide (50.8mm) blanks. Previously it was necessary to use an adapter and a set screw in order to assure that 2" (50.8mm) material traveled smoothly through the printer. Additionally, customers felt that an additional locking tab would be helpful in securing the adapter thus preventing the blank from possibly moving the adapter out of position during printing.
In response, DCS added a new adapter for 2" (50.8mm) materials and redesigned all other internal adapters which currently ship with Millennium 590 printers. The new adapters secure themselves more firmly in the printer’s Internal Card Guide. This added stability aids in keeping the blank straight as it passes back and forth under the Printhead. The stability is facilitated by the addition of a locking brace. The notched brace slides over the arm (black diagonal metal piece) of the permanent Internal Guide, thus assuring that the adapter fixture sits in it more securely.
Improved Internal Adapters can be used in both the Millennium 590 and Millennium 575x model printers. If you would like to purchase a set of new adapters (or an individual adapter) for your printer, please refer to the following information. Adapters are shipped in approximately 10 days.
